other beverage styles, but a series of subse-
quent forays into premium-style juices were
unsuccessful because those drink types in
Jamaica are generally considered restaurant-
brand in nature and the company lacked the
raw material supplier to achieve a high-qual-
ity end product.
The gap was bridged whenWong struck a
partnership with a Belize-based company six
years ago to create proprietary formulas and
develop juice concentrates based on Cold-
field’s specs. The agreement helped Coldfield
establish a firm foothold in the premium-
juice space, which was instantly augmented
by the already well-developed organizational
framework on the island.
That brand reached the market as Coun-
try Style and was augmented by the intro-
duction of Pure Country three years ago.
The company has recently placed a signifi-
cant emphasis on changes in label design,
which, in Wong’s estimation, have already
had an impact on sales.
